Miracle Flight #8 – Flying Above Our Fear of God | Miracle Flights

Hello Everyone!

I was so excited to record the Miracle Flight video today because the last two readings from the Obstacles to Peace: The Fourth Obstacle: The Fear of God (T-19.IV.D) and The Lifting of the Veil (T-19.IV.D.i) contain the secrets a simple awakening now!

Each and every one of us takes-off into the cloudy sky of life and we fly around aimlessly for an entire lifetime all the while forgetting about the radiant sun above, shining away in a beautiful blue sky. In these readings, Jesus explains that we’ve made a secret pact with the ego to never fly up an through the veil of the clouds, but instead, to fly blindly until one day we lye down the body in death. And then we do it all over again in the next lifetime.

Fortunately, Jesus also explains that this obstacle, and all the other obstacles can be easily overcome if we but have the willingness to learn how to go within and see the light of the Face of Christ within us. Additionally, to make it easier to learn how to perceive this inner light and hear the Voice of God, we must make it a priority to forgive our brothers and sisters for what they did not do. Remember, everything we see and believe about the world is an illusion!

To compliment these two readings, take a look at section 3. Forgiveness – The Face of Christ in the Clarification of Terms and Lesson 121: Forgiveness is the key to happiness.

Wishing You a Happy Flight!

Christmas Message – Part II: Christmas as the End of Sacrifice

Ho Ho Ho Everyone!

This week we examined Jesus’ sharing in Christmas as the End of Sacrifice (T-15.VI) and learned a couple of new, interesting things. First, when Jesus uses the term “Christmas”, he is referring to the light within us that is perceived during our meditations. Which is much different than the concept of Christmas that many of us have learned and practiced throughout the years. Second, he explains how our understanding of the term “sacrifice” has been reversed by the ego thought systems. Most of us strongly believe that our special relationships with others, the careers we’ve established, and the hobbies we pursue will help us to feel safe, loved, and appreciated within the dream. And because of this strong belief, we think it would be a sacrifice to go within and discover the truth of our Inner Light which would reveal to us that everything has already been given to us by God. We also would recognize that what we truly have sacrificed is the awareness of who we really are as the Sons and Daughters of God.

To help us discover this truth within ourselves, this week we are practicing Lesson 303: The holy Christ is born in me today. Let us join together in this practice to discover our inner Christmas star and feel the joy of Christ rising within us this holiday season!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas,

Rev. Paul

Miracle Toolbox Week 21 | Face of Christ

Greetings Mighty Companions!

This week we are going to add a carpenter’s pencil to our Miracle Toolboxes. As many of you are aware, a carpenter’s pencil is a flat wooden pencil with a flat but thick piece of lead in the center. Carpenter’s use them to draw straight lines on wood to be cut. On the spiritual side of things, our friend Jesus uses his carpenter pencil to draw us a straight line through the dream of illusions to our awakening. And upon our full awakening experience, the dark line of our past illusions will be erased forever as we move into eternity with God. Yay!

Today, Jesus helps us to draw that straight line to our awakening by addressing a common mistake that Course students make when they see the term, face of Christ, used within A Course in Miracles. Many students think that he is referring to the image of the face he had on a man’s body when he walked the earth, but he is not (Image 1). Instead, he is referring to the perception of the light that we experience in our mind’s eye during meditation (Image 2).

When we take a look at section 3. FORGIVENESS – THE FACE OF CHRIST (C-3, pg. 83) and LESSON 198: Only my condemnation injures me (W-189, pg. 379), Jesus clarifies several things about his use of the term, face of Christ. First, “Seeing the face of Christ involves perception…Whoever looks on this no longer sees the world. He is as near to Heaven as is possible outside the gate” (C-3.4). Second, perception of the light of the face of Christ is a bridge to Heaven (C-3.5). Third, perception of this light is the one illusion that allows us to get a glimpse of Heaven instantly, and “is the gift the Holy Spirit holds for you from God your Father” (W-198). And fourth, when you perceive this light within your mind, you are seeing the truth about your “Christ” self being reflected back to you. In the same instant, there is a recognition that you are beholding your sinlessness, and that there is a part of you that is very holy (C-3.8). You are “seeing your innocence shining upon you from the face of Christ” (W-198).

If you would like to learn more about this truly wonderful and joyful gift from God, please watch my video where I explain in more detail about the face of Christ.

Many Blessings,

Rev. Paul

Miracle Toolbox Week 20 | Threshold of Enlightenment

Greetings Mighty Companions!

On this 20th week of filling our Miracle Toolboxes with enlightenment tools, we finish up the last two sections under the Prayer chapter within the Song of Prayer. Some key take-aways to keep in mind from section IV. Praying with Others (S-1.IV) include:

  1. In order to truly share in prayer with others, we must have reached the second level of prayer in which we see no one else as an enemy, and we begin to recognize that “we go together, you and I” (S-1.IV.1) up the ladder to heaven.
  2. This mindset will quicken our ascent up the Ladder of Prayer, however, we must watch out for a common mistake. Individuals or groups who join together to ask for things and occurrences to change within the world are making a mistake with regard to the practice of True Prayer.
  3. To practice True Prayer correctly as a group, “those who pray together must remember to ask, before all else, what is the Will of God” (S-1.IV.3).

In section V. The Ladder Ends (S-1.V), Jesus explains that prayer is a way to true humility. He states, “The truly humble have no goal but God because they need no idols, and defense no longer serves a purpose…Now prayer is lifted from the world of things, of bodies, and of gods of every kinds, and you can rest in holiness at last” (S-1.V.2-3). He also reminds us that “A dream has veiled the face of Christ from you. Now can you look upon His sinlessness. You have come almost to Heaven” (S-1.V.3). This is a key reminder about seeing the light within ourselves during meditation. If you will recall from our previous Miracle Toolbox discussions, the reference to “the face of Christ” is a reference to seeing the light of Christ within ourselves through the use of our spiritual sight in meditation. When we perceive the flash of light within our minds, there will be an instant recognition that this is the light of our Christ selves – and of everyone else. At this point, we have reached the threshold of enlightenment because we recognize that we “stand before the gate of Heaven, and your brother stands beside you there” (S-1.V.4).

Our tool from the Holy Spirit to be added to our Miracle Toolboxes this week is a tuning fork. When a musician has an instrument such as a violin that is not in harmony with itself, the musician can use a tuning fork to bring the strings of the instrument back into correct resonance. Similarly, we can think of the practice of True Prayer as the tuning fork tool we use to raise ourselves up the ladder, back into harmony with God, and onto the threshold of enlightenment.

Many Blessings!

40 Days of Light – Day 18

Christ is in me.

In meditation, repeat today’s affirmation, “Christ is in me.” Feel it, breathe it, embrace it as the truth. The fact that God is Love does not require belief, but it does require acceptance. Accept the fact that God is devoted to you. How lovely that statement. God’s Will is already possible, and nothing else will ever be. When you make yourself what you are not, depression, anxiety and panic erupts. If you feel this, do not look beyond yourself for truth, for truth can only be within you. “Christ is in me, and where He is God must be, for Christ is part of Him.”

Lessons in Light Series

My friends,

I have a new “Lessons in Light” email series I have created that I wish to share with you. This new series will continue throughout the entire month of December.

How this will work is that several times a week I will send you an email that may contain a short audio talk I have recorded (and perhaps a video), inspiring and enlightening guided meditations to invoke the Light and bring you to a state of peace, ACIM readings reflecting the Light and easy exercises that you can do to help you not only think about the Light within, but more importantly, to practice accessing it. You can receive the gift of Light this holiday season. And we’ll do this together as there is a private Facebook group to share insights and miracles! Sign up today as the first message will go out December 2nd!

Together, we will cover the following in this email series:

  • Light of Truth
  • Light of Love
  • Light of Joy
  • Light of Peace
  • Light of Christ
  • Light of the World

We can become focused on anything but the light within. We are easily swayed by the ego with its distractions and forays into the past, or blame of another, or guilt. Or, even subtle “superiority” which can come in various forms. It looks as such: “I am superior than others because I am a Course student,” or “I am superior to others because I have X numbers of years of education or letters in front or behind my name,” or “I am superior because I will forgive you or I am kinder.” We don’t think of these ideas coming to take the place of Heaven and the peace of God, yet they do.

We judge others and we judge ourselves. Mostly we judge ourselves for the seeming separation that in truth never occurred. We project outward to keep the truth at bay. In Chapter 26, X. The End of Injustice, Jesus speaks to us about judgment, injustice, and unfairness, all feelings we can relate. We deprive ourselves of our light as we believe we are or have been unfairly treated by someone or something in the world, ultimately it is we feel unfairly treated by God. Yet once again Jesus reminds us:

If you perceive injustice anywhere, you need but say:
By this do I deny the Presence of the Father and the Son.
And I would rather know of Them than see injustice, which Their Presence shines away.

What if the Light within was sufficient? What if we didn’t have to dig or peel layers away? What if you realized you are the one depriving yourself of the Light? What if we just recognized it for what it is? Already present and alive in us.

What if we simply release our defenses? Every defense that we hold. Our judgments, our past, our desire for control, our righteousness, everything. What if we accepted the Light within us and others as what it is?

This paragraph in Lesson 188 tells us, Sit quietly and close your eyes. The light within you is sufficient. It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. They know the way. For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself.

Thoughts on Lesson 166

I am entrusted with the gifts of God.

Could any of  my words really expand upon what is spoken in this lesson. In this time in our lives, June 2016, these words become beacons for us. Shall we not draw upon the gift within so we can give it without?

…Your hand becomes the giver of Christ’s touch; your change of mind becomes the proof that who accepts God’s gifts can never suffer anything. You are entrusted with the world’s release from pain.
Betray it not. Become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you. Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now.  For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world.

Thoughts on Lesson 165

Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.

I focused in on the words on this lesson today in my meditation.

  • Let not MY mind deny the Thought of God.
  • Let NOT my mind deny the Thought of God.
  • Let not my mind DENY the Thought of God.
  • Let not my mind deny the Thought of GOD.

The words resounded in my mind echoing and reechoing throughout. In the light of the occurrence in Orlando over the weekend, and through the gift my husband, Rev. Paul shared in his guided meditation last evening, these are the words to engrave in my mind.

Who would deny his safety and his peace, his joy, his healing and his peace of mind, his quiet rest, his calm awakening, if he but recognized where they abide?

How can I deny Heaven? How can I deny Christ’s power to heal? I can choose instead the eternal and everlasting Thought of God. The Thought of God is Love. Simply Love.

Yes, I can be swayed by the trauma and hatred as portrayed in the news, scan the Facebook posts, and be swept by the politics of it all. Yet, here I am.I can make a difference by not denying Heaven and thus denying my Creator and what He did create. God is with us no matter how challenging these days have been to everyone this tragedy has touched. I can practice in hope. I can rely on His Sureness and His Care. I can impress on my memory “His Love remains beyond our every fear.”

I gather all into the Light of Christ. May my heart be full of compassion, love and forgiveness this day.
