Letting Go: Releasing the Need to Control
Learning to Trust What We Cannot See
We often seek safety by trying to control circumstances, outcomes, and even the people around us. A Course in Miracles invites us to discover another kind of safety—not through greater control, but through greater trust. As we loosen our grip on how we believe things must unfold, we make room for the Holy Spirit to guide us. Letting go does not mean giving up; it means releasing the burden of believing that everything depends upon us.
October invites us to explore the difference between control and trust. When life feels uncertain, we may try to protect ourselves by planning more carefully, anticipating every possibility, or holding tightly to the outcomes we believe will bring us peace.
A Course in Miracles offers another way. Rather than asking us to stop caring, planning, or taking action, it invites us to notice when our efforts are being driven by fear. We can fulfill our responsibilities without believing that everything depends upon our ability to control what happens next.
Throughout this month, we will explore the defenses we use to feel safe, the freedom found in “I Need Do Nothing,” the practice of releasing outcomes, and the trust that allows us to be guided one step at a time.
Letting go is not resignation. It is a willingness to loosen our grip on our own way and make room for another.
This is a month of softening.
A month of releasing.
A month of trust.
We do not have to control the way ahead. We can become willing to be led.

Since you’re here… …we have a small favor to ask. More people are reading our posts, listening to our audios and watching our videos than ever before but far fewer are donating for it. As an all-volunteer ministry, you can see why we need to ask for your help. MiraclesOne provides ACIM resources freely however it takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe in encouraging others to practically apply the Course principles in their lives – because it might just make the one difference in your life. If everyone who reads, listens or watches and likes what we offer helps to pay for it we can continue to afford our expenses and keep our resources FREE to all ACIM Students. Monthly Donors receive free gifts in appreciation for their support.
