In an email I received today, Rev. Gayle shared the following with me. First, she recalled paragraph 12 in the current review of the Workbook Lessons (Review V) and its significance.

Yet are the words but aids, and to be used, except at the beginning and the end of practice periods, but to recall the mind, as needed, to its purpose. We place faith in the experience that comes from practice, not the means we use. We wait for the experience, and recognize that it is only here conviction lies. We use the words, and try and try again to go beyond them to their meaning, which is far beyond their sound. The sound grows dim and disappears, as we approach the Source of meaning. It is Here that we find rest.

Then this short passage by Paul Ferrini:

Truth Beyond Words

Reading a lot of words is exhausting.

We do not need a lot of words.

The more words we have,

the more we argue about what they mean, and the more we argue, the less we understand.

Good teachers give us only a few words

and then leave us to digest them.

As you can see by both the Course and the words of Paul Ferrini, our goal is to get beyond the words. We need to live them, breathe them, BE them.

Amen and amen.

Since you’re here… …we have a small favor to ask. More people are reading our posts, listening to our audios and watching our videos than ever before but far fewer are donating for it. As an all-volunteer ministry, you can see why we need to ask for your help. MiraclesOne provides ACIM resources freely however it takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe in encouraging others to practically apply the Course principles in their lives – because it might just make the one difference in your life. If everyone who reads, listens or watches and likes what we offer helps to pay for it we can continue to afford our expenses and keep our resources FREE to all ACIM Students. Monthly Donors receive free gifts in appreciation for their support.
