Who, What, Where, When, and Why—a good detective tries to determine these in a situation. However, when we approach situations, too many times we get focused on the “Why” and we begin to write stories to fill in the gaps to the information. Sometimes we automatically assign a motivation to a friend or family member. These stories we write are based on fear and come from the past. We have such a strong desire to figure it all out because the unknown is terrifying to us. Instead, we make up a story and proceed to analyze it accordingly. Today, we’ll stick to just the facts! As it says in ACIM, “Perhaps it will be helpful to remember that no one can be angry at a fact. It is always an interpretation that gives rise to negative emotions …”
