The first readings in our line-up are our Prayer Lesson for the Month - Lesson 273 - The stillness of the peace of God is mine. and our week's reading, Lesson 109 - I rest in God.

The first commentary is from our Divine Messages on the Workbook Lessons:

Lesson 273

(I believe that Rev. Paul wrote this one. Sometimes it’s hard to remember which one of us wrote which commentary.)

When our Father Who is perfect Peace created us, He created us exactly like Himself. Peace is yours because you are Peace Itself.

In Heaven you are Peace, you chose to block the awareness of Peace that you are in exchange for something else. Just as easily you can choose to change your mind and remember the Peace that you are.

In stillness and with your eyes closes, you can practice letting go of all you thought you made and allow the memory of Peace to restore Itself to your awareness.

You are using darkness and with great effort to block the awareness of Peace from Yourself. The memory of Peace that you are lies hidden in your mind with the Light as well. Perceive the Light and peace will come. Perceive Peace and the Light will come. For you, Light and Peace are truly One. They are yours, you are Them.

You are Father's Prince of Peace and aren't you glad that this is so?

I am ready for undisturbed tranquility today.

I am willing to learn to have the experience of peace.

I dismiss all disturbances from my mind as they arise as I hold and repeat in my mind, "The stillness of the peace of God is mine."

I am grateful for my determination for the experience of peace.

Lesson 109

Cradled in the Arms of God, I take my rest. In resting in Him, everything else slips away and perfect peace is all that is. It is just like taking a short nap or retiring for the evening. It is a break from the daily activities, the busyness, the ringing phone, and the mail to answer. It is a time away from all concerns to be at peace.

Truly resting in God always shows the insignificance of the world around me. And when I rest in Him, my brothers join with me in the stillness. Resting in God is waking to the truth. My mind has it so opposite with the perception of this world. The focus strays to what is going on outside of me, to all the material things or to all the people in the world. I have made them my peace, my god.

Resting is trusting. I trust that God is God, that I am His Son, perfectly created and whole. I trust that all needs are satisfied in Him. In this trust, I have need of nothing but God. So my rest in Him is the trust, is the confidence of a Son who knows his Father.

Resting in God ends illusions It ends all perceived sorrow and pain. Resting shows me I have all that I need in Him. There is no loss and there is nothing to gain here because all is in place as I take my holy rest.

I rest in God and rest with His Angels who sing sweetly to me of my creation and of my perfection in Him.

I rest in God.

Rev. Paul wrote this today to add to this week's readings on Stillness:

The gift of stillness is no idle one. It is a gift you can give to yourself at anytime and the rewards are greater than we realize. Each time you give yourself a gift of stillness by going within and pausing in silence, you hold the key that opens the door to heaven for a moment. It only takes a moment for the Light to break through and remind you how close you are to the gate of heaven. It walks with you everywhere, yet you know it not within the world of distractions. The eyes will never see the Light of stillness but the spiritual eye in your mind will. Learn how to use the spiritual sight Father gave to you through the Holy Spirit in stillness.

The other night, I was lying in bed meditating quietly, being very still as I quietly observed the screen in my mind's eye and suddenly three stars of bright white light flashed within my mind. What a pleasant surprise and reminder that there is so much more to see. I heard it beautifully put today while watching the movie, "The Bucket List". 'The stars shined as if they were holes poking through the floor of heaven.' This is so close to the truth it's amazing. Heaven is so close it wraps us in It's gentle Blanket of Light and we don't realize it is there.

We walk with Heaven's loving Blanket of Light wrapped around us all the time but we see it not. Let us give ourselves the gift of sight through the gift of stillness today.

With Love From Iraq,

Rev. Paul
