Looking Within
Looking within, I pray to see
Holy Spirit’s stance on me,
where the guilt devours my peace,
where my conflicts crave release,
in dark corners, clinging tight
to that very lack of light,
where my aching thoughts of loss
have become an albatross,
where I struggle and conflict,
allowing ego to convict.
Looking past the ego’s layer
to the deeper truth within,
meditating, in deep prayer,
I can feel the Light begin.

Often students are disappointed when they feel no contact by the Holy Spirit. The course teaches us that Holy Spirit is always speaking to us but we are not listening. I think that even more so we fail to recognize that Holy Spirit is “speaking” to us because often it is not a voice.
The course teaches that when we hear the Holy Spirit we feel joy and peace. Ever look at a beautiful sunset and feel joy or a deep peaceful connection? This is the Holy Spirit speaking to us. Ever all of a sudden notice a sign or words that seem to give an answer? The Holy Spirit never criticizes, cajoles, or makes you feel bad. If the “message” makes you feel bad most likely it is the ego masquerading with “helpful” words that bring guilt or worry.
The Holy Spirit can even talk to you in dreams. I recently had a dream where I was one of four teachers split up into four different parts of a room with students at our tables. I was waiting for the Holy Spirit to come over to my table to begin the instruction. I suddenly realized that I could start the teaching and immediately felt a little guilty for not having done so. The Holy Spirit at the other table immediately said “That’s OK”, assuring me I have done nothing wrong. I felt better and was ready to begin the class. This dream was evidence to me that it was OK to participate in instruction any time. The Holy Spirit is nearby and will be there to help no matter wether I feel ready or not.
As you go to bed and also when you rise have a small conversation with the Holy Spirit and ask for help to listen. You only need the willingness- God always is speaking his Word to you.

Prayer for the Month
Lesson 309 – I will not fear to look within today.
Within me is eternal innocence, because it is God's Will that it be there forever and forever. I, His Son, whose will is limitless as is His Own, can will no change in this. For to deny my Father's Will is to deny my own. To look within is but to find my will as God created it, and as it is. I fear to look within because I think I made another will that is not true, and made it real. Yet it has no effects. Within me is the Holiness of God. 8 Within me is the memory of Him.
The step I take today, my Father, is my sure release from idle dreams of sin. Your altar stands serene and undefiled. It is the holy altar to my Self, and there I find my true Identity.
