In a little history of this group, it was set up years ago in late 2000 and was originally called “Minds-in-Training.” It was co-moderated with my dear brother Brian Cordova, for everyone to share our experiences with the Workbook. It was sort of an offshoot of the Miracle Distribution Center’s Tape/CD Listener’s YahooGroup that Brian and I co-moderated at the time.

As my ministry has evolved over the years, especially in my marriage and joint ministry with Paul, so has the group. One theme has remained, to share personal experiences as we apply the Course.

Back in April of 2001, I was going through a lot with the discovery a few months prior of my children having been molested, at that point, I wrote and shared with the group:

”….The last sentence especially is important, THIS IS NOT A COURSE IN THE PLAY OF IDEAS, BUT IN THEIR PRACTICAL APPLICATION.

You want to know what I've been doing? That is it, I am applying it in every corner of my life. I share the trials and lessons that I have been going through, and it may seem very dark to you, but I have chosen the Light.

Nothing in the world can make you ill or sad or weak or frail as Lesson 190 goes:

It is your thoughts alone that cause you pain.  Nothing external to your mind can hurt or injure you in any way. There is no cause beyond yourself that can reach down and bring oppression. No one but yourself affects you. There is nothing in the world that has the power to make you ill or sad, or weak or frail. But it is you who have the power to dominate all things you see by merely recognizing what you are.  As you perceive the harmlessness in them, they will accept your holy will as theirs. And what was seen as fearful now becomes a source of innocence and holiness.

Can all of this be done? Yes, I am telling you that it works, it works in application in everything you do. If you believe that there is an order of difficulty in miracles and in healing, then it will not work for you. All we are asked to do is to believe. I have answered that call. And, I know and I can tell you that there is no order of difficulty."

At that time in my life, I had no choice but to embrace the principles and put them into action. It worked and has continued to work, and I am grateful. I continued to share openly and honestly about all that I was dealing with, forgiving and healing on this board. Both Paul and I continue to do so and we encourage you to join and share with us in the healing of our minds.

I also said in July, 2001-

"I have found greatest joy in direct application of the Course principles. We are all pioneers here folks. If we in fact, "Teach only Love for that is what we are." it will have great power in this world rather then analyzing it and talking about and "running rings around it logically" as an old Monty Python sketch says....the power is in you and me and how we treat ourselves first... do we treat ourselves gently....how do we treat our brothers and sisters in this world? Are we in fact going home together? Or is that just a nice thought to have when in fact we stab each other in the back every chance we get with our expression either spoken or unspoken."

And so we welcome you here to our ACIM Practical Application group, please feel free to share as you are guided. You can apply the principles of the Course into every part of your life. You can do this. You have the Holy Spirit within you and He is never wrong.
