Lesson 70 - My salvation comes from me. 

   Today's Lesson is about addiction; addiction to anything in the world that we think would complete us or make us happy. And we know in the world, it seems that lives have been made chaotic with addiction. Today, we are offered another way. It is a way of resisting the temptation of "God replacements." It is our own mind that has caused us the pain that led to the addiction to people, places and things.

   Our mind has used guilt to form the foundation of pain but our mind can be used to build a foundation of healing. When I can realize that I am in control of my thoughts and when I have the awareness what my thoughts have done, then, I can take responsibility for my thoughts. As I take responsibility it is the little willingness that I possess that will allow me to move forward into releasing all that guilt has taught me. I enter into a time of self-forgiveness with the Holy Spirit leading the way. This time of forgiveness leads me Home. It points me in the direction of truth. I can no longer blame nor make excuses that outside events, things, and people have caused my painful experiences but instead point me inward to my Friend Who will help me to understand the sickness of my mind.

   Through the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness work, little by little I move through the clouds and into the awareness of my role as savior of the world. It does not matter what I have been through, what I have done. What matters now is that I am determined to see things differently and that I am devoted to a new way of life. A life of trusting in the strength of God instead of my own strength is the practice to maintain now. With strong determination I gladly say, "My salvation comes from me. Nothing outside of me can hold me back. Within me is the world's salvation and my own." And I know it can be done.
