An Open Letter to Potential Students....

Our classes run 1 ½ hours long. Each student is given a syllabus for the year. Each week there are required readings. Our theme is Practical Application, meaning, we take time throughout the week to not only practice each reading but also taking the time to journal and spend time with the Holy Spirit.

Each month there is a private session with Rev. Deb Phelps so that anything that cannot be shared in the group format, can be shared in confidence. We work together on personal goals for the next 30 days. The student checks in with these calls and finds comfort in just being able to unload at times. (This one-on-one session is not available with our 8 Week Practical Application Classes. It is only in our Text, Workbook and Ministerial Program.)

In the classes we honor everyone’s Inner Teacher and what that Teacher is teaching each student in their own individualized curriculum. We do not ask anyone to agree with our “take” on the Course, instead we continue to encourage the relationship with Him so that each student strengthens that contact. It is not about analyzing or debating the Course.

Each week students share the insights or excerpts of journaling from the last week. All is shared from the personal perspective. There is a feeling of community within the group as if they were family.

A student can withdraw from the class and those who have in the past knew that they couldn’t keep up with the daily work. Some found that it was harder to work on personal practical application experiences and wanted to debate paragraphs or sections. We believe that everyone will know if this approach is for them or not. If you find that it is not resonating with you, you can withdraw.

Consider though in making the commitment for the entire year. Sometimes it will seem hard at first but then you break through to the other side.

We have two classes currently but they did not begin in January. We shifted the schedule for the incoming classes.
